College and Young Adult Ministry

GPC’s College and Young Adult ministry (CYA!) is composed of a mixed group of college students and young professionals who are attempting to understand and follow the way of Jesus.

Together we seek to enter into honest and gracious community with one another, bringing with us our gifts, fears, hurts, questions, hopes and uncertainties. We do so with the hope that we will be transformed in the process and thus be changed into transforming agents. We are committed to one another and committed to seeking out God’s movements in our own personal lives, his Church, the community of Glendale and the world. Our meeting time is usually FRIDAY evenings. These events fluctuate between movie discussion nights, service oriented gatherings and various other outings, and through them we seek to provide opportunities for members of our community to engage one another in authentic conversation and relationships.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE THIS SUMMER!

Sundays! College Small Group
Join us at 9:00 am in the Subway for singing. Then head upstairs at 9:30 for small group conversation with Bill Myers. CYA will be sitting on the patio, munching on breakfast treats, sipping on coffee and delving into guided discussion. Hope you can join us!

Monday Night Scripture Study
Join at the Artime’s house as Henry Artime leads us in discovering how to read the Bible well. The gathering will start at 6:30 for light dinner and discussion will be from 7:00-8:00.

Friday evenings!
Every Friday there will be an event for CYA. Look at the schedule beneath for more information.

GPC CYA SUMMER SCHEDULE

JUNE EVENTS   

6/7:  7:00 pm PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT AND CAR RALLY
We will gather for snacks and beverages, split into teams and head on our way. Whoever wins the evening will get candy and bragging rights! Hope you can join us

6/14: 7:00 pm ASSASSINS
Meet at the Myers’s house for a game of Assassins. We will start by watching a couple motivational clips chosen by Bill. We will then drive up to Brand Park and then make our way by a specific route down to the house again. Basically in between there will be a wild game of tag on the way down the hill. The last woman or man standing without being tagged is the victor and gets a prize 
We will culminate the evening with war stories and dessert and drinks. Bring your friends! Come dressed up in incognito attire! And be as intense as you like.

6/21: 6:30 pm MOVIE NIGHT: 500 Days of Summer
Join us for an evening of food eating, film watching and film chatting!
You bring the drinks, I will bring the dessert.

6/27-6/30: CAMPING
    We are going camping…..it will be amazing. You should join us!

JULY EVENTS

7/5: 7:30 pm CAPTURE THE FLAG: Water Gun style
July…it’s hot and gross. Let’s play capture the flag and squirt each others with water guns in the process!

7/12: 6:00 pm BBQ and Catch Phrase and GAMES
Bring your own meat and some dollars! I will offer the grill up and extra foods and beverages. We will grill our meats and then enjoy a lively wild game of catch phrase. Winning team gets candy. We will Sundae it up in an extravagant style. Get excited.

7/19: 7:00 pm MOVIE NIGHT: TBD
Join us for an evening of film watching and film chatting!
You bring the drinks, I will bring the dessert.

7/26: 7:00 pm Outdoor WORSHIP NIGHT
Join us for an evening of worship in the lovely outdoors beneath the stars.

AUGUST EVENTS

8/2: 7:00 pm A Good Old Fashioned Dare Night (Downtown?)
We will meet at GPC and then wander to the Americana or downtown for Dare Night. This. Will. Be. Amazing. Make sure you bring your A game and a stone cold resiliency against embarrassment

8/9: 6:00 pm BBQ and ASSASSINS
Bring your own meat and some dollars! I will offer the grill up and extra foods and beverages. We will grill our meats and then enjoy a lively wild game of ASSASSINS. Winning team gets fancy party hats. We will enjoy marshmellows and s’mores and campfire desserts.
   
8/16: 7:00 pm MOVIE NIGHT: TBD
Join us for an evening of film watching and film chatting!

8/23: 7:00 pm Outdoor WORSHIP NIGHT
